I’m a Reasonable Sort
IS PHIL SPECTOR IN YOUR FUTURE?
I once covered the “fight of the century”. It was 1986 at Ceasars Palace in Las Vegas. Thomas “Hitman” Hearns vs. “Marvelous” Marvin Hagler. The fight lasted only 2 1/2 rounds before the “Hitman” went down, and while celebufight fans like Bo Derek and Sly Stallone called it the best fight ever, the boxers were plotting to set up the rematch. As the glassy eyed Hearns told me after the fight, “We did it once…let’s do it again.”
What the heck does this have to to with The Legal Edge? Nothing really, except that after an outpouring of Phil Spector fan e-mails I’ve decided to try one last time to get a read on how many folks would really subscribe to a monthly service that allowed us to cover costs to stream the Spector trial. Here’s the deal: I’ve opened a new e-mail address just to receive commitments from PS2 fans. If the number is sufficient (and based on my calculations and production costs that number needs to be at least 1000 viewers at $35.00 per month. The cost would go down if we get more subscribers) we would go ahead with setting up the actual payment structure to assure these commitments. The last thing we want to do is start the process and end up going under because a large number of folks flaked.
Here’s the dedicated e-mail address: lawjerktoo@gmail.com
So, pass this along to anyone interested. I’ll e-mail the basics to all registered at TLE…and we’ll see. It’s up to you now.
MJB

I am definately interested in your pay@view coverage of PS-2 and who knows maybe even others after.

Thank you MJB for your work on getting this trial to those of us who deeply want to see Justice carried out in this case. I truly would like to see your words and take on the events each day as the case unfolds. Many of us have spent so much time and energy debating and caring about this case this last year, that we are completely committed to seeing the whole drama gavel to gavel. We have become an integral part of the story in our own way and as our role is quickly being denied to us, we are confused and frustrated as what to do to remain involved. It has become almost like a family member is being represented by the prosecution and we want to do and see the best for that person. Lana Clarkson has become our friend, sister, daughter, mother and most of all a woman who was treated horribly and denied her right to life. Many words will not make this happen, I do know that, your good intentions and the support of the trial addicted viewing public will have to push it into a reality. All my good thoughts and wishes for this to happen. My many thanks to you and your team also for taking the high road and trying to bring us back into the picture.

There seems to be a large viewer base who have a long standing & intense interest in this cas e & I count myself in that base. It would be a pleasure to watch the retrial live truly gavel to gavel. Not with commercial breaks, host comments, etc while the trial is ongoing. Altho I love host comments I feel those should be reserved for times when there is not live trial ongoing. I have heard some comments from interested viewers that they are unable to afford $35/mo & can certainly understand that, but I would be willing to pay the fee. Thank you Michel for taking an interest in what the viewers want.

There are many of us who really appreciate your even considering to do this. Thanks.
The first Spector murder trial was riveting. Being able to listen to a live, uninterrupted audio feed of the second one would be worth $100 per month to me, and I’d pay twice that if it came down to it.
Thanks again!

I’ve written you before that I want to watch the Phil Spector trial. I am willing to pay for the feed.
However, I also wrote that I can’t register with your site. Your registration software keeps rejecting every attempt I make, saying invalid security code. Now I see you have my preferred user name filled in on this form. That might be from a cookie made when I posted here the other day. Or did you actually register me in response to one of the many emial messages I sent you. If you did I still can’t log in, but I guess I’m half way there.
Hope to learn hwo I can register for the feed. Thank you.

I too would love to be able to watch round 2 gavel to gavel, but I am certainly not willing to spend my hard earned money on it..lol. As I can understand the public’s need to satisfy their “fix” by watching this second trial, My rent is more important..lol.

I’d pay as long as there were archives available for more convenient (not live) viewing. Hope that’s possible. Thanks for your neat site and good work.
